3 years ago a girl at work asked me if I could draw her a picture. I asked her who she wanted me to draw and she told me it's a guy who played "the Phantom" in the movie aka "her future husband" (or so she said).
"That's fine. I'll have to charge you though. Sorry I can't draw for free unless it's my personal project" I answered her with an enthusiam of someone who'd been asked to draw an orange, except I wouldn't charge her for a picture of an orange. I had no intention to check the movie out. I had no idea who (the hell) he was. She didn't mention it again (or if she did, I didn't pay any attention) and not long after that she was moved to work in another place. 3 years later, I've seen the movie. I believe she'd be happy to know that I've drawn him NOW, on my own will, with all enthusiam in the world. *I hope you can see why I named the previous drawing "Phantom" and named this one "Erik" as I tried to capture the different persona of the charactor. At first I meant to draw another rose in the background then I decide one rose was enough. *All with pencils on A4 (& red coloured pencil for the rose) Thanks Gerardbutlergals.net for a reference screen shot and a photo. Aaaaahhhhh!!! Awesomeness on stick! Do you realize how fantastic this drawing is? I was kinda sorta thinking about watching this movie tonight, but you just sealed the deal. Your shading is superb (yeah, I just said superb), and I just love that look on his face. You've captured the emotion perfectly, can't wait to see the third one. . . though I personally thing you should make a set of, oh, I don't know, ten or so?
