Artist's Comments

Another drawing of my idol.. I've never realised how realistic pencil drawings could be until I saw some of the great works from great artists here. It's just then that heard my competitive nature said; if the others could so could you. This drawing was just as far as my skill could go at the moment. I hope I can beat myself the next time I draw..

Nicely done. I really like the details and shading. Very good form.

Very nice shading. The hair and the eyes came out especially good. The only thing that looks a bit odd is his facial hair. I don't know what the person actually looks like but it seems too abrupt or in the wrong place--something along those lines. It could be me though =D

Very impressive realism.

You're very skilled! I'd like to see some more from you.

wow huge improvement. Your weakest area was the ear, looks rushed and not as smooth. Really you've figured it out, just more intensive shading with paper stumps and kleenex will get it smoother. The biggest trick is contrast, contrast, contrast. Smooth transitions with high contrast will make your hair look soft and touchable, which is what you want with this type of portrait drawing. Other than that it's really good
