I love 2008. It's the year that a lot of great things happened. One of the most memorable moments of 2008 was watching Rafael Nadal winning his first Wimbledon title under the rain, the sun and the stars.

I meant to make this drawing the last submission of 2008 then changed my mind because I want 2009 to begin with him. I chose to draw this picture at oppose to all the action shots because I love the calmness of it.

This drawing didn't mean to be this detailed. It supposed to be a simple drawing. I should've finished it Sunday night or Monday al least.. But something bad happened.

Indy Colts got beaten by the Chargers...

I was upset.. I was disapointed.. I was furious..

I was mad at the thing that I had no control over.. The ball wasn't in my hand (it'd be worst of it was... I got a worse skill with balls than Bella from Twilight)..

So I found solace on the thing that I COULD control, a pencil.. I started adding details - more shading, more strands of hair, another shading, another strand. By the time I felt a little calm down the drawing looked no lonnger simple..

Not that it's a bad thing...

This drawing's dedicated to

, a very talented pencil artist and a big Rafa's fan. I promised her I'd draw Rafa if he was the world no.1 at the end of the year. He was and I kept my promise.
